My name is Kathryn Flanagan, but everyone calls me Katie. I am a graphic designer who has found a love for typography, photography, and print design while earning my degree and now working at SUNY Cobleskill. I grew up in a small town in Western New York, and that has fueled my love for agriculture, animals, and the outdoors. In my free time, you can usually find me riding or photographing a horse, sewing, or creating something with my hands. Click the arrow to view my resume.
While web design may not be my absolute favorite realm of the design world, it is a new challenge every time, and that is something I do like. You never grow without some challenge, and to accomplish something tough is much more rewarding than cruising through and learning nothing new. Being able to double as a designer and developer is one skill that sets me apart from the rest of the crowd. Every site you see (including this one) is coded and designed by me.
My love for photography comes from a passion to preserve moments. It has always been in me, even when I was little; drawing pictures of animals as I saw them, now I just have better equipment (and training). I have been involved in and exposed to many areas of photography, but my favorite photos to capture are probably portraits and the beauty and power of horses (and their riders).
Ever since I was able to hold a pencil, I have been drawing (mostly horses). While at SUNY Cobleskill, I was able to take a 15-week course using only charcoal. I found I loved this new-to-me medium, but have also been able to apply some of the techniques and principles I learned in the other mediums I enjoy working in during my free time.
